Critique
The data set tells you about the dedicated video games sales unit (hardware and software) in Japan, America, Europe and other countries. I think what works well is how simply the data for both the hardware and software sales has been represented and it’s very easy for a layman to understand the data and not get intimidated by the huge numbers. At first glance, it takes time to figure out how the software sales has been represented. Also the visual representation of software sales (other and Americans particularly) gets mixed up with the hardware due to the similar color scheme. There is no proper use of the baseline for the hardware. So I think there is immense scope to improve the visual representation/appeal of this particular data set.
Background info/context
The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid video game console, consisting of a console unit, a dock, and two Joy-Con controllers. Although it is a hybrid console, Nintendo classifies it as “a home console that you can take with you on the go”.
Nintendo Switch hardware: Multi-touch capacitive touch screen / 6.2-inch LCD Screen / 1280 x 720. CPU/GPU. NVIDIA Custom Tegra processor. Storage. 32 GB of internal storage, a portion of which is reserved for use by the system.
Personas
Sophia has a hard time defining the designs in the initial stages. She’s a team person and feels that sometimes it’s very hard to make others understand the complex data of various aspects of the game. Isn’t exactly clear how the map would give them an idea of the improvements to make/the trends that are been followed so the team can improve on that particular aspect.

The data type is a mixture of discrete, continuous and nominal.
Data in spreadsheets> finding trends
First would be the total growth rate of the sales in hardware and software.
The trend observed is that the overall sales are increasing. The sales for japan (hardware) dipped a little in 2019.
HARDWARE
Since its launch, Nintendo Switch sales have been consistently increasing
Sales of Nintendo Switch (hardware) in Japan slowed in 2019 but picked up again in 2020.
Sales in the Americas have been consistently increasing, and are much more than other regions.
Japan and Europe are quite close in the sales of hardware
SOFTWARE SALES
Again constant increase in the sales of the software in all the regions.
America’s software sales is higher compared to other regions.

I realized that annotations are an extremely integral part of data visualizations and could make your visualization a little easier to for a laymen to understand.
