Why investigative journalism appeals to me the most, and how it has everything to do with Louis Theroux

And I’m sure the number has grown even more since then.

Documentaries are now ingrained into my news consumption on a weekly basis. They are factual, with the added bonus of being visually exciting, and have the power to engage even the most ignorant of millennials.

The topics covered are usually sensitive anyway, but with the added pressure to investigate deeper than anyone has gone before, the investigative journalist will never fail to ask the burning questions in your head.

If you’re still with me, and haven’t lost all interest on this post, then you’ll probably understand why combining news and entertainment is a smart way to capture an audience. We had Brexit in 2016, followed shortly by the inauguration of Donald Trump in January 2017, and I think we pretty much lost all hope for good.

But we still have Louis Theroux; which is the most important takeaway from this post because he is an investigative journalist genius, that can help us restore faith in our weird and wonderful world, one story at a time.
