The start of Biometrids

Today we will give you the backstory of how we came up with the idea for Biometrids and how it all started.

We started to discuss different products in 2016. One of our first discussions was about banking and making a system where you could use your credit card directly in any store around the world. More and more banking products like this came up, so we skipped the idea. We wanted to find a solution that could solve a problem on the blockchain, not just make another product to be in direct competition with other banking products.

Our next discussion was about a ticket system that would make tickets impossible to copy and would remove touts from the ticket industry. We had a long discussion about these products, but couldn’t decide how to build the system. Should we build the platform or only an API? What solution should we work with? We parked the idea for some time, while other ideas were on the table.

The next idea we explored was a copyright system. The idea was to make sure that if you buy a product from a retailer or an individual, you would always know that this item whether it was medicine, designer furniture, or something else was original from the factory. We kept running into major problems. How could we identity people? And how could we always know that the serial number of the product was unique and not a copy of another serial number? This product opened our eyes to a lot of different problems that need to be solved on the blockchain. It would be too complex to solve them all to build this product.

When we saw this, we picked one of the main issues to work on: the identity of people. If we can confirm that people on the blockchain are who they say they are it will be possible to create many other products. So, we focused on the identity problem.

The first thought was to make a checkpoint that people could use to confirm their identity. This could be their Facebook account, a government service that validated the person, or another third party trusted service.

The problem was that the identity wouldn’t be decentralised. If Facebook one day closed down or lost its trust, we would have a big problem with our service. We determined it should somehow be decentralised, which is where we came up with the idea about facial recognition.

This new type of identification on mobile devices will be adopted into more devices in the future. Using facial recognition would solve the problem of decentralising our product, while excluding third party trusted services.

This is how the Biometrids idea came to live. This concept will change the blockchain forever.

Our pre-ICO will run from the 25th of November to the 1st of December, and the main ICO will run from the 16th of December until the 13th of January.

75.000.000 tokens are for sale: 5.000.000 in pre-ICO and 70.000.000 in our ICO. Grab your chance to get some coins in our ICO.

Next week, we will be releasing our roadmap, and between the 15th and 20th of November we will release our white paper. Sign up to our newsletter to get the latest news on Biometrids.
