GRLI Partnership to help adjudicate 2018 Flourish Prizes

This year, the Flourish Prizes are being selected by 29 jurors, including John, split into six groups. John is part of the group that is being asked to read and evaluate 11 semi-finalist AIM2Flourish stories for Global Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), Global Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Global Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

The 2018 Flourish Prizes Jurors include members of the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit Advisory Board, Cleveland business and community members, and 2017 Flourish Prizes honorees.

The 2018 Flourish Prizes — 17 winners for each of the 17 UN Global Goals — will be announced in mid-April. An online virtual celebration is planned for mid-May, as well as in-person regional celebrations around the world.

The AIM2Flourish community is grateful to the GRLI Partnership’s founding and ongoing support to support, advance, and further responsible management education and responsible leadership.

There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.

Dear Distinguished Jurors,

It is with a great sense of gratitude that I welcome you as the 2018 Flourish Prizes jury and thank you for the role you play in the shift to a Business for Good mindset. On a global scale, we’re recognizing the positive impact of today’s business leaders and changing the way tomorrow’s leaders are taught.

As well, this is a special moment for me personally, as I return to lead the Fowler Center as an Agent of World Benefit, where the AIM2Flourish initiative has flourished. By shifting the core questions asked, AIM2Flourish brings the transformative method of Appreciative Inquiry to professors and students globally. Through the lens of the UN Global Goals for Sustainable
Development (SDGs), business students identify business innovation models, and share these stories on the global AIM2Flourish.com website.

At its heart, these next business leaders are discovering innovations that promote economic prosperity while contributing to a healthy world and human wellbeing. In 2017, we published a remarkable 509 student-written, inspiring innovation stories from all corners of the globe. From this impressive
collection, our Fowler Center team selected the 60 most exemplary stories for your consideration.

Thank you for helping us to shape the composition of our 17 Flourish Prizes, representing just a small snapshot of all we have and can achieve together.
