In the whole “self-improvement” community quite a few things get demonized.

And for good reason.

There are distractions all around us from the second we wake up to when we fall asleep.

But I also like to play devil’s advocate. Are some of these “productivity killers” even that bad?

I’m going to list off three things that I don’t think actually hurt my productivity…

Do the majority of people waste hours on social media every day?

Absolutely.

However, if you use social media the right way, it can actually boost your productivity.

How?

It’s all about the timing.

For me, I take some time at the end of my workday to lay back and scroll for a little while.

I “veg,” if you will.

And I actually get some great ideas for:

Now, if I do this vegging when I’m supposed to be working that would be a whole other story.

But if I’ve gotten my important tasks done for the day, I don’t see much of a problem with scrolling for a bit.

It can even be used as a reward for executing my important tasks for the day.
